Scholarship Deadlines Coming Up in Black History Month

It is Black History Month and scholarship season is in high gear. There are so many great scholarship opportunities in February for Black and African American students, we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight several that we feel are exceptional. Ranging in value from $6,000 to up to $60,000, the following opportunities will only be available for between one and three more weeks and then be gone for another year, so don’t miss your chance at these amazing awards. ELC Scholarship Program
Amount: $60,000
Deadline: February 15th

The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) is the preeminent membership organization committed to increasing the number of global Black executives in C-Suites, on corporate boards and in global enterprises. The ELC opens channels of opportunity for the development of Black executives to positively impact business and our communities. The mission of The ELC’s Scholarship Programs is to build a pipeline of Black corporate talent by supporting the academic achievement and development of Black undergraduate and graduate students.

DGV Scholarship Program
Amount: $20,000
Deadline: February 24th

In order to be considered for the DGV Scholarship, individuals must be an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited four-year college or a university, or be a high school senior accepted for such enrollment; Must be pursuing, or planning to pursue, a degree in S.T.E.M., finance or business; Must be part of an underrepresented demographic in the financial services sector (Women, BIPOC); Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card), or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA); Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) and be able to demonstrate financial need by having a FAFSA Expected Family Contribution index value of $25,000 or less.

AMS Scholarship for Underserved Communities
Amount: $6,000
Deadline: February 24th

The AMS Scholarship for Underserved Communities will award funding to students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American, and Black/African American students. Funding for the scholarships is provided through donations made to the AMS Annual Giving Program. The American Meteorological Society (AMS) is committed to, and benefits from the full and equitable participation of a diverse community. AMS is committed to advancing core values of diversity, inclusion, and equity across all aspects of the atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences.

National Forum for Black Public Administrators Scholarship
Amount: $10,000
Deadline: February 27th

Scholarships are offered in furtherance of NFBPA’s goal of lending support to African American and other minority students interested in leadership roles in public service. Applicants must be current full-time undergraduate and full-time graduate students currently enrolled in a traditional four-year, accredited university or college, have at least 1 full-time academic semester remaining, with a minimum 3.0 GPA (except CIGNA undergrad requires minimum 3.5 GPA).
