The Freehold Branch of AAUW will award two $2,000 scholarships - the Lew Williams Scholarship and the Leila Sulkes Scholarship - for the upcoming academic year. In order to apply, you must be a female at least 25 years of age and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Scholarship Details
- Two scholarships available, each worth $2,000 for the academic year 2024-2025
- Funding is contingent upon the annual AAUW Book Sale proceeds
- Named in honor of Lew Williams and Joan Odud for their significant contributions
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be women aged 25 and older
- Must be residents of Monmouth or Middlesex Counties, NJ
- Enrolled in accredited bachelor’s or graduate programs for the coming academic year
- Bachelor’s program applicants must have completed a minimum of 60 credits with at least a “B” GPA
- Graduate program applicants must have completed a minimum of 6 credits with at least a “B” GPA
Application Process
- Confirm that you meet all of the eligibility criteria listed above
- Prepare and compile all required application materials, including transcripts and proof of enrollment
- Submit your application by the deadline set by the AAUW Freehold Branch (specific date to be confirmed on the application form)
One or more Scholarships of $2000 are awarded for an academic year for women in undergraduate or graduate degree programs. Named for outstanding volunteers, funding for the Lew Williams and Joan Odud Scholarships is contingent upon the amounts raised by the annual June AAUW Book Sale in Freehold, NJ.
