Scholarship Description

To be eligible for the Achievers in Technology Program scholarship, applicants must: be entering a United States college or university as a first-year student in the upcoming academic year; demonstrate an interest in pursuing a tech career (ie. Software Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, Information Security, Project/Program Management, Networking, Database Administration, etc.); be of African descent; and demonstrate financial need. Sankofatech will notify all applicants of the final decision by July.

Sankofatech’s Achievers in Technology (AIT) is a rigorous scholarship and mentorship program that aims to produce the next generation of African technology professionals in the United States. We believe technology is not the preferred career path for youth of African descent due to lack of knowledge about the industry, community misconception (i.e., not perceived as prestigious), and lack of access to resources. We aim to tackle these problems through the AIT program.
