Scholarship Description

Agrawal Fellowship for Resilient Scholars provides comprehensive academic, financial, wellness, and social support to high-achieving Bay Area students who have lost a parent. Through a cohort-based model, we ensure students have the resources, community, and guidance they need to thrive in college and beyond.

Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a current high school student in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Must attend school in one of the nine eligible counties: San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma, or Solano
  • Must have experienced the loss of a biological, adoptive, step-parent, or legal guardian
  • Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate college readiness
  • Must be accepted to a four-year college or university
  • Must be willing to actively participate in fellowship activities, programming, and community engagement
  • Should demonstrate resilience, personal growth, and service-minded values

Application Process

  1. Confirm eligibility based on location, academic standing, and personal circumstances
  2. Apply and gain admission to a four-year college or university
  3. Prepare application materials demonstrating academic commitment, resilience, and community involvement
  4. Submit the fellowship application by the posted deadline
  5. Participate in interviews or additional selection activities if requested
  6. Engage fully in cohort programming upon selection

The Agrawal Fellowship was created to support students who have lost a parent (biological, adoptive, step-parent, or legal guardian) and are navigating the college application process and transition to higher education during a challenging time.
