The AgWest Championing Agriculture Scholarship will be awarded to students currently enrolled in a university, college, post-secondary institution or vocational program. The degree, certificate or technical program and desired career path must be directly tied to serving the agriculture industry.
Scholarship Details
- $2,500 one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
- Open to students pursuing degrees or certificates related to agriculture.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current college student enrolled at least part-time.
- Enrolled in an institution located in AgWest’s service territory (Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington).
- Pursuing a degree or certificate directly related to agriculture with plans to serve agriculture and rural communities.
- U.S. citizen or legal resident.
- Can not be a past winner of this scholarship
Application Process
- Obtain a copy of your college transcript (unofficial copies are acceptable). Save it as a PDF with the filename: Firstname-Lastname-Transcript.pdf (e.g., Sam-Smith-Transcript.pdf).
- Provide a letter of recommendation from a non-family member who has taught or supervised you and can speak to your character.
- Write an essay (one page) discussing:
- Your past efforts in advocating for agriculture.
- Your future goals and aspirations, including how you plan to positively impact the agriculture industry after earning your degree.
Save the essay as a PDF with the filename: Firstname-Lastname-Essay.pdf (e.g., Sam-Smith-Essay.pdf).
- Complete the online AgWest Championing Agriculture Scholarship Application form and attach your PDF files.
Scholarships are $2,500 and funds are made payable to the student’s financial aid department at their selected institution. This scholarship is awarded once to an individual and is not renewable.
