The AKC Humane Fund John D. Spurling Scholarship will provide financial aid for students who are pursuing educational programs that include responsible pet ownership in their curriculum. For example, individuals pursuing studies in veterinary medicine, veterinary technology, physical therapy, animal care, animal behavior, grooming and training may be eligible for this grant. The Fund plans to award five scholarships per year, totaling $10,000 annually, payable as tuition assistance to accredited institutions where students are enrolled in courses of study focusing on the care of pets.
