The American Sports Builders Foundation (ASBF) was founded in 2023 by the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), a non-profit trade association comprised of builders, designers and suppliers for sports facilities, which exists to promote the highest standards of design, construction and maintenance.
One part of the ASBF mission is to support the next generation of leaders in the sports design and construction industry by providing scholarships for students engaged in industry-related studies and programs.
Eligibility
- Enrolled in or planning to enroll in a program that supports the sports design and construction industry
- Graduating high school senior
- Accepted to or enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year technical school, college, or university in North America
Candidates must/will have graduated from high school or its equivalent before July 1 of the year in which they will use the scholarship. They must have sufficient academic records to be accepted by an accredited college, university, or technical institute. Students already in college or a technical institute are also eligible to apply.
Judges will consider academic success, interest, special abilities, financial need, and other factors in choosing scholarship recipients. The judges will give consideration to the degree in which the career choice could have an application to the sports design and construction industry.
Application Process
The person applying for the scholarship must fully complete the application form. To be considered, the application, transcripts, and letters of recommendation must be received by the deadline. The form may be reproduced.
Required Documents
- A transcript of grades and credits, with the exception of the current semester. Students enrolled in college or technical institute must furnish a copy of their transcripts from high school and any other collegiate or institutions attended.
- A letter of intent describing your future plans related to the sports design and construction industry.
- A letter of recommendation from an employer or other professional with whom you have worked.
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or education professional.
