Scholarship Description

The AMS Fellowship Program is a source of unique opportunities for outstanding students looking to pursue graduate education in the fields of atmospheric sciences, chemistry, computer sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, hydrology, mathematics, oceanography, and physics. To be eligible, applicants must be entering their first year of graduate school in the fall of the year the scholarship is offered and pursuing a degree in the atmospheric or related sciences at a US accredited institution.

A minimum 3.0 GPA or higher is required and applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status. Three letters of references and relevant transcripts will also be required to apply. A stipend will be presented to each fellowship recipient for a nine-month period in the academic year. In addition, fellowship recipients will receive partial travel support to attend the AMS Annual Meeting. Notifications will go out in March. Students who have already received their Masters are not eligible.
