Viking Sportsmen, Inc. is an organization of over 300 concerned conservationists. Membership includes sportsmen and women from all walks of life and includes many non-residents as well as native Minnesotans. Operating with an annual budget, this non-profit, tax deductible organization returns nearly 100% of each dollar contributed back into field conservation practices. Throughout their generosity, Viking Sportsmen, Inc. is offering the Art Engelbrecht Environmental Education Scholarship to eligible students.
The Art Engelbrecht Environmental Education Scholarship was established in 2007 by family and friends of Conservationist Arthur O. Engelbrecht. This scholarship will be given on a perpetual basis to qualified individuals pursuing higher education in the natural resources and environmental sciences. It is awarded yearly to a student majoring in natural resources and environmental sciences, also based on achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, leadership service and legacy. Natural resources shall include, but not limited to, course studies in natural resources management, natural resources law enforcement and natural resources aviation. This scholarship is open to any student in the State of Minnesota.
