Scholarship Description

Applicants of the Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship must be residents of the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, be a high school senior or currently enrolled college student planning to attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University and major in computer information systems or computer science. Applicants must write a short essay describing previous experience and interest in the I.T. field. The number of awards and the maximum dollar amounts will vary.

In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit an official transcript, ACT/SAT scores, two letters of recommendation (one should be from a teacher, while the other should be from a pastor, employer, coach, mentor or other non-relative), a resume (no more than two pages) and an IRS tax form 1040. In place of the IRS Form 1040 you may upload a copy of your Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) as long as you have not imported your financial information directly from the IRS.
