Awarded annually through the ISEA Foundation, this $8,000 scholarship recognizes outstanding students who are pursuing careers that advance innovation, protection, and safety for workers across the country.
Scholarship Details
- Award amount of $8,000
- Granted annually to one student
- Supports undergraduate study in safety, health, and related fields
- Recipient selected by an independent review panel
Eligibility Criteria
- Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in the United States
- Be pursuing a degree that prepares them for a career in the safety industry
- Relevant fields of study may include, but are not limited to:
- Occupational Safety and Health
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
- Industrial Hygiene
- Safety Engineering
- Product Design and Engineering (with a safety focus)
- Ergonomics and Human Factors
- Supply Chain or Manufacturing Systems (with PPE or safety applications)
- Construction or Industrial Management (with a safety emphasis)
Application Process
- Gather official transcripts for the past two years of completed education
- Prepare a financial disclosure form to demonstrate need
- Write an essay of at least 500 words explaining your motivation to pursue a career in safety and health
- Compile a list of extracurricular activities
- Obtain two letters of recommendation
- Submit all materials through the designated application platform before the deadline
The Bailey-Shipp Scholarship was created in 2017 to recognize the contribution that Mr. Shipp made to ISEA and the safety and health of American workers during his 25 years as President of the association.
