The Edward O. Fritts Award is an annual scholarship administered by the Broadcast Education Association to support students pursuing studies in electronic media. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in media production, research, or education.
Scholarship Details
- One scholarship is awarded each year.
- The scholarship award is $1,000.
- Recipients are announced by mid-December, and scholarship funds are distributed the following summer.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be enrolled at a BEA member institution.
- Must be an undergraduate who will be a junior or senior, or a graduate student.
- Must meet all applicable BEA scholarship requirements.
Application Process
- Create a BEA profile by setting up a BEA account.
- Obtain a complimentary membership code from your faculty advisor or by contacting BEA if you are an undergraduate at a BEA member institution.
- If you are a graduate student, contact BEA to verify whether your school includes graduate membership.
- Complete and submit a single scholarship application through the BEA scholarship portal.
- Eligible applicants will automatically be considered for all BEA scholarships for which they qualify.
