The Peter B. Orlik Award is a scholarship administered by the Broadcast Education Association to recognize students pursuing excellence in electronic media. This award supports undergraduate and graduate students studying any area of electronic media at BEA member institutions.
Scholarship Details
- One scholarship is awarded annually.
- The scholarship award is $3,500.
- Recipients are announced by mid-December, and scholarship funds are distributed the following summer.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be enrolled at a BEA member institution.
- Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year of undergraduate study or be enrolled as graduate students.
- Applicants must be pursuing studies in any area of electronic media.
Application Process
- Create a BEA profile by setting up a BEA account.
- Obtain a complimentary membership code by contacting your faculty advisor or emailing BEA if you are an undergraduate at a BEA institutional member school.
- Email BEA to verify graduate membership eligibility if you are a graduate student.
- Complete and submit the scholarship application through the BEA application system.
- Submit a single application to be automatically considered for all BEA scholarships for which you are eligible.
For 25 years, Peter Orlik has been chair of BEA’s Scholarship Committee. Thanks to his commitment and passion to broadcast and digital media students, BEA has been able to award hundreds of students close to $750,000 in scholarships.
