The Sperry Fund offers the Beinecke Scholarship to college juniors who aim to enter graduate school upon graduation. Scholars are awarded a total of $35,000.
Scholarship Details
- Need-based
- Eligible colleges must nominate students
- $5,000 awarded upon receipt, with an additional $30,000 awarded over the course of graduate school
- All funding must be used within
- 6 years of recipient's undergraduate graduation
- 5 years of recipient's graduate school entrance
- 1 traditional Beinecke Scholarship is offered per year
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. citizen (with limited exceptions)
- Demonstrate financial need
- Enrolled at a participating undergraduate institution as a junior
- Plan to pursue graudate studies in the arts, humanities, or social sciences
- Record of academic excellence
Application Process
- Attend an eligible undergraduate college
- Contact your campus liason for nomination
- Follow their instructions and, if chosen as a recipient, follow the scholarship guidelines though graduate school to remain eligible
Established in 1971, this scholarship honors the Beinecke family: Edwin, Frederick, and Walter. 135 colleges nominate students for the Beinecke Scholarship each year.
