At the Bessie Mathew Foundation, we believe families should never have to choose between paying for treatment or paying for their education. To that end, we want to ensure that women impacted by cancer are able to pursue their educational goals or that of their family.
Scholarship Details
- Provides financial assistance for education-related expenses, including tuition, tutoring, books, uniforms, and more
- Supports eligible educational programs such as daycare, Pre-K through 12, after-school care, or accredited colleges and universities in the U.S.
- Awards distributed three times each year
Eligibility Criteria
- A member of the household has been diagnosed with cancer
- The household must include at least one female
- Applicant must have an education-related financial need
- Must reside in the United States or a U.S. Territory
- Must not have received a Bessie Mathew Foundation EAP payment in the past 12 months
Application Process
- Visit the online application form to submit your application
- Provide required documentation, including proof of financial need and cost estimates
- Submit your application by the applicable deadline:
- May 5 for awards distributed by June 2
- June 30 for awards distributed by August 1
- November 30 for awards distributed by January 5
