Scholarship Description

After more than 70 years, the BFOA is expanding its mission to include educational and professional development for future broadcasters through networking events, internships, and now the BFOA Scholarship Program.

Scholarship Details

  • Merit-based scholarship program
  • Supports students pursuing studies in broadcast communications and related fields
  • One-time scholarship award valued at $10,000
  • Application deadline is July 15th

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have an immediate family member working in broadcasting
  • Must be currently enrolled at a college or university in the United States
  • Must be studying broadcast communications or a related field
  • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must meet all application requirements established by the scholarship program

Application Process

  1. Review the scholarship eligibility requirements and application guidelines
  2. Complete the scholarship application during the application period
  3. Provide documentation verifying enrollment at a U.S. college or university
  4. Submit information demonstrating academic achievement, including GPA verification
  5. Provide documentation regarding your connection to the broadcasting industry through an immediate family member
  6. Recipients are expected to be announced on September 1st
