The Colorado Association of Biomedical Equipment Technicians (CABMET) is a non-profit organization comprised entirely of unpaid volunteers dedicated to better patient care through the advancement of Biomedical Equipment Technology. The association encourages a free exchange of information between BMETs, hospitals, and vendors.
Scholarship Details
- At least one scholarship is awarded each year
- Additional awards may be available depending on funding and sponsorship support
- Award recipients receive their scholarship during a CABMET Reception at the AAMI eXchange
- Selection is based on GPA, course load, relevance of major, and participation in CABMET activities
Eligibility Criteria
- Must attend at least one CABMET function
- Must be present at the scholarship awards ceremony to receive the award
- Must have completed at least six credit hours during one semester within the past twelve months
- Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Must be enrolled in a degree program related to approved STEM and healthcare technology fields
- Eligible fields of study include Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Programming, Database Administration, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Automation, Electronics Technology, and IoT
- Degree program eligibility is determined solely by CABMET officers
Application Process
- Attend at least one CABMET event, meeting, or volunteer activity during the prior twelve months
- Verify enrollment in an eligible STEM-related degree program
- Complete and submit the scholarship application and any required supporting materials
- Contact CABMET with questions regarding degree eligibility if needed
- Attend the CABMET awards ceremony to receive the scholarship if selected
Scholarship will be awarded based on a combination of factors, including GPA, course load, relevance of major, and CABMET participation. CABMET seeks to promote education in STEM fields and the recruitment of talented STEM students into the healthcare technology field.
