Captain Spectrum's Be Kind Scholarship is a post-secondary education scholarship that is awarded to a deserving autistic teen or adult who embodies Chris's spirit by demonstrating exceptional kindness, tirelessly fighting bullying, and nurturing friendships. If you are a person on the autism spectrum with aspirations for post-secondary education at a university, community college, or vocational technical school, we encourage you to apply. Eligibility
- Must be on the autism spectrum
- Must be a Tennessee resident
- Must be seeking a post-secondary opportunity at a university, community college, or vocational technical school
How to Apply
You will need to supply two letters of recommendation. Choose teachers, professors or community leaders who can speak to your character, adademics and community involvement
You will also need to provide a personal statement or essay. You may record a video or write an essay that includes the following:
- Share personal experiences, challenges overcome, or significant achievements
- Clearly articulate your intended field of study and how it aligns with the scholarship's focus
- Highlight your involvement in community service, clubs, sports, or other extracurricular activities
- What are some reasons you want to continue your education and what would you like to learn that will help you make the world a kinder place?
