Scholarship Description

Each spring the CCGGA schedules an Open House & Scholarship fundraising event to raise funds for scholarships. Each participating nursery proudly donates a portion of that day’s sales (mainly plants) to the CCGGA Scholarship Fund. Only High school seniors or currently enrolled undergraduate college students are eligible.


  • Must be a California resident.
  • High School Seniors and currently enrolled college students who are children of CCGGA Grower Members, including children whose parents or guardians are employees of a member nursery. Note: any major will be accepted in this category.
  • High School Seniors and currently enrolled college students pursuing an education in Horticulture, one of the Plant Sciences or Environmental Sciences. Future educators in the plant sciences will be considered.
  • Students pursuing plant production, management or research careers are especially encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the scholarship application
  2. Transcripts: Submit entire high school and collegiate time periods.(Unofficial transcripts are acceptable but the applicants name must be clearly stated as well as a school reference or website link in footer.)
  3. Submit two or more letters of reccomendation (From school faculty or member/teacher and/or another adult in the community)
  4. Submit scholarship essay of 250 or fewer words
