Scholarship Description

The CFMA Portland Chapter Scholarship supports full-time students pursuing careers in the construction industry. Recipients are recognized by the CFMA Portland Chapter and honored at the organization's annual golf tournament.

Scholarship Details

  • Awards range from $2,000 to $5,000
  • Scholarships are awarded in August for the upcoming Fall academic year
  • Winners are honored at the CFMA Annual Golf Tournament in mid-September, although attendance is requested and not required

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be enrolled full time at an Oregon or Southwest Washington college or university pursuing a degree or certification
  • Be studying finance, accounting, construction management, or a related field of interest to the construction industry
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application
  2. Write and submit a 300-word essay explaining your relationship to the construction industry or how the construction industry impacts the economy
  3. Provide a current college transcript or a high school transcript if you are entering your first year of college
  4. Submit a current resume
  5. Include two letters of recommendation, with one from an academic source and one from a member of the business community (letters from immediate family members will not be accepted)
