Scholarship Description

The Chevron International REACH (Recognizing Excellence and ACHievement) Scholarship Program is sponsored by Chevron for the children of its employees and retirees. The Program was established to recognize and assist outstanding children who plan to pursue post-secondary education. Scholarships are offered for one academic year for full-time undergraduate study.

Scholarship Details

  • Sponsored by Chevron for children of eligible employees and retirees
  • Designed to recognize outstanding students pursuing post-secondary education
  • Award amounts range from $500 to $2,500 per year
  • One-time $1,000 honorariums may be awarded to students without demonstrated financial need
  • At least 50 percent of awards are intended for students majoring in STEM fields
  • Awards may be renewable for up to three additional years for qualified recipients
  • Scholarships are for undergraduate study only and do not cover all educational expenses

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a child or stepchild on Chevron’s benefits plan of an active non-U.S.-payroll Chevron employee or wholly owned subsidiary employee
  • Children of retired employees and eligible domestic partners may also qualify
  • Retirees must not be employed by a competing energy company
  • Must be in the final year of high school or in the first year of university as a full-time undergraduate student
  • Must have a minimum U.S. equivalent GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Students who previously received certain Chevron-sponsored honorarium awards are not eligible to apply
  • Renewal recipients must maintain academic eligibility and continued parental employment status

Application Process

  1. Confirm that you meet the employee or retiree dependent eligibility requirements
  2. Ensure you are entering your first year of college or currently enrolled as a first-year full-time undergraduate student
  3. Verify that you meet the minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 or higher
  4. Complete the online scholarship application by the program deadline
  5. Provide any requested financial information to be considered for need-based scholarship awards
  6. Await notification of award decisions and renewal instructions if selected

Scholarships are intended to assist students as they pursue undergraduate study and are NOT intended to cover all educational expenses. Recipients are responsible for the balance of funding, including tuition and fees, books and supplies, living expenses, and transportation.
