Scholarship Description

The CINTAS Foundation Fellowship in Architecture awards $25,000 to creative artists of Cuban descent who demonstrate excellence in architectural design, interior design, urban design, or urban planning. Since 1963, the foundation has supported many Cuban architects and designers, especially those early in their careers, and continues to build a permanent collection that documents the work of its fellows. This prestigious fellowship is intended to support independent artistic projects, not research or academic work.

Scholarship Details

  • $25,000 fellowship for architecture-related disciplines
  • Open to professionals in architectural design, interior design, urban design, or urban planning
  • Fellows encouraged to contribute representative samples (e.g. drawings) to the CINTAS Fellows Collection
  • Fellowship is taxable under U.S. law
  • Awarded a maximum of two times per individual

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be of Cuban citizenship or direct lineage (Cuban parent or grandparent)
  • Must be a creative professional; students, researchers, and performing artists are ineligible
  • Non-U.S. citizens must provide a U.S. taxpayer identification number if awarded
  • Must create or use a Gmail account to access application forms

  2. Sign in with or create a Gmail account
  3. Complete the Application Form with personal and professional details
  4. Upload work samples that demonstrate your creative and architectural capabilities
  5. If selected, submit representative samples of your work to the CINTAS Fellows Collection
