To be eligible for the Clem Judd, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, applicants must: be a resident of Hawaii; provide proof of Hawaiian ancestry (birth certificate and/or birth certificate of mother, father, grandmother or grandfather); have a 3.0 GPA; and be a junior or senior attending an accredited university or college and accepted in a hotel management program. The judges’ selection of scholarship recipients will be made on the basis of citizenship and leadership as demonstrated through activities and college performance.
In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit a transcript, a recommendation letter (from a professor, counselor or dean), and a personal statement (500 words maximum) addressing an assigned topic. HLTA has always striven to provide scholarships to local students to pursue their academic goals. Despite the setbacks of 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to announce that this tradition of giving will continue with numerous scholarships that have been made possible through HLTA, the Hawai'i Hotel Industry Foundation, and other community partners.
