Scholarship Description

The Concetta Tuori Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the remarkable life and legacy of Concetta (Connie) Tuori, a Syracuse native who valued education, cultural diversity, and independence. Connie’s lifelong commitment to education and her adventurous spirit inspired this scholarship, which aims to support graduating Henninger High School students with financial need and a strong desire to create a brighter future for Syracuse and beyond.

Scholarship Details

  • Scholarship amount: Renewable up to four years
  • Available to one recipient each year
  • Preference for students who are New Americans (including immigrants, children of immigrants, refugees, or children of refugees) or Dreamers
  • Scholarship is renewable each year upon proof of continued enrollment

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a graduating senior from Henninger High School
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must display excellent academic progress and upstanding character
  • Must have significant community and/or volunteer involvement
  • Preference for students who are New Americans or Dreamers

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application form.
  2. Submit two letters of recommendation from teachers.
  3. Provide an essay detailing your educational goals, personal background, and how you plan to contribute to your community.
  4. Include documentation demonstrating financial need.
  5. Submit proof of enrollment each year to renew the scholarship.
