Scholarship Description

The Couch Oil Cares Scholarship Program is an effort to help local students with the costs of higher education. Again this year, Couch Oil is teaming up with the Durham Bulls to award scholarships to deserving individuals. The scholarship is available to students who have been accepted to either a four-year college or community college and reside in the 16-county area surrounding the Triangle.

Scholarship Details

  • Six scholarships awarded annually
  • Each scholarship valued at $2,000
  • Designed to support first-year college students in Couch Oil’s service area

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a resident of one of the following North Carolina counties: Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake, or Wilson
  • Must be accepted to and registered as a first-year college student for the coming academic year
  • Must be no more than 25 years of age at the time of the scholarship presentation

Application Process

  1. Confirm eligibility based on residency, age, and college enrollment status
  2. Complete the Couch Oil Cares Scholarship application form
  3. Provide proof of acceptance and registration as a first-year college student
  4. Submit all required documentation by the application deadline
  5. Await notification of selection and scholarship presentation details

Eligible applicants must be a resident of eligible counties. Applicants must have been accepted to and registered as a 1st-year college student for the coming school year (four-year or community college). Applicants must also be no more than 25 years old at the time of the scholarship presentation. Couch Oil Cares seeks to make a difference through its support of education, employment, homelessness and those seeking to overcome addiction.
