The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB), through Dairy Management Inc. (DMI), annually awards up to eleven $2,500 scholarships to eligible undergraduate students (rising sophomore through senior) enrolled in college/university programs that emphasize dairy.
Scholarship Details
- Up to eleven $2,500 scholarships are awarded annually
- One outstanding scholarship recipient may receive the $3,500 James H. Loper Jr. Memorial Scholarship
- Eligible areas of study include communications and public relations, journalism, marketing, business, economics, nutrition, food science, agricultural education, and other programs emphasizing dairy
- Students may receive scholarships in multiple years
- Selection considers academic performance, dairy-related coursework and activities, career commitment, extracurricular involvement, leadership, initiative, character, and integrity
- Recipients must remain enrolled throughout the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded
- Applications are due May 15th
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an undergraduate student who will be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior
- Must be enrolled in a college or university program that emphasizes dairy
- Should demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in a dairy-related discipline
- Must be enrolled for the entire academic year for which the scholarship is awarded
Application Process
- Complete the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board Scholarship Program online application.
- Submit an official transcript covering all college coursework.
- Provide a statement describing your career aspirations, dairy-related activities, and relevant work experience.
- Include information demonstrating academic achievement, dairy-related coursework, extracurricular involvement, leadership, initiative, and commitment to a dairy-related career.
- Submit the completed application and required materials by May 15th at 11:59 p.m. CT.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, an interest in a career in a dairy-related discipline, and demonstrated leadership, initiative and integrity. Candidates are expected to fill out an online application, submit an official transcript of all college courses, and write a short statement describing their career aspirations, dairy-related activities and work experiences. The application information is evaluated by a NDPRB Scholarship Committee composed of an external review panel and at least two Board members.
