The Alan K. & Isabelle DerKazarian Foundation High School and College Scholarship is due June 1st. One of the pillars of our foundation is supporting causes relating to the education of those in our community. Because of this, we are happy to announce the continuation of our annual scholarship program. We would like to dedicate this scholarship program to Dr. Alan DerKazarian, professor of periodontics at Boston University.
Scholarship Details
- Six scholarships awarded annually
- $10,000 awarded to each recipient
- Three awards for graduating high school seniors
Eligibility Criteria
- High school applicants must be seniors enrolled in a Massachusetts high school
- College applicants may attend any institution (no Massachusetts requirement)
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university if selected
Application Process
- Complete and submit the scholarship application by June 1st.
- Submit a full academic transcript.
- Provide a resume outlining activities, achievements, and experience.
- Include a statement demonstrating financial need.
- Write a 500-word (or less) essay reflecting on your passion, motivation, and reasons for pursuing higher education.
- If selected as a finalist, participate in a short interview.
The DerKazarian Foundation Scholarship offers a significant financial award and an opportunity for students to share their personal story and aspirations. Applicants are encouraged to present their passions, goals, and determination as they pursue higher education. After all applications are carefully reviewed, a select pool of finalists will be selected to conduct a short interview regarding their application. The winners will be selected after all interviews are complete and the committee has deliberated.
