The Desert Financial Community Service Scholarship rewards students who have dedicated
exceptional time and effort to serving their communities.
Scholarship Details
- Thirty scholarships to be awarded
- $3,000 awarded to each selected recipient
- Funds are distributed directly to an Arizona-based college or university
- Scholarship is based on community service, academic achievement, and financial need
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduating high school senior in the coming spring
- Minimum 3.00 cumulative weighted GPA
- Plans to attend an Arizona college or university
- Current Desert Financial member or relative of a member in good standing
- Demonstrated financial need based on Student Aid Index from the FAFSA
- Completion of 50 or more hours of qualifying community service between January 1 and December 31st of the year prior to application
- Community service completed with eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit or approved organizations
Application Process
- Complete the online application in one sitting-- progress cannot be saved
- Provide details about qualifying community service activities and volunteer supervisors
- Submit essays describing your educational goals and community service experience
- Respond to requests for additional information if selected to continue in the process
Please note that for this scholarship, we are seeking volunteer service that demonstrates leadership and a commitment to transforming communities through service to others in need. We request hours only with IRSdesignated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or other qualifying groups, such as National Honor Society, Girl Scouts, Key Club, Rotary Club, and others, as applicable.
