The DJ Chapter COGA Scholarship provides financial support to graduating high school seniors in Weld County and Brighton, as well as students in select Colorado counties whose parents work in the DJ Basin. The scholarship is open to students attending accredited post-secondary institutions, including trade schools and community colleges. The scholarship award is paid directly to the student.
Scholarship Details
- Open to high school seniors in Weld County and Brighton

- Application deadline is April 1 (postmarked applications only, no email submissions)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a high school senior from Weld County or Brighton
- Or must be a high school senior from Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Elbert, Jefferson, Larimer, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, or Yuma counties with a parent working in the DJ Basin
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must be accepted into an accredited institution
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application
- Prepare the following required documents:
- An applicant letter outlining general goals and plans
- One letter of recommendation
- A resume including awards, accomplishments, and work experience
- A two-page typewritten essay titled “How the Oil and Gas Industry Impacts My Life”
- Ensure that all required materials are included in the application packet
- Mail the completed application packet postmarked by April 1 (email submissions are not accepted)
