Scholarship Description

The Driven at Heart Scholarship Contest, presented by Cousins Subs in partnership with Donald Driver, awards scholarships to Wisconsin high school senior athletes who excel in academics, sports leadership, and community involvement.

Scholarship Details

  • First Place Prize: $7,500 scholarship awarded to one male and one female athlete
  • Runner-Up Prize: $2,500 scholarship awarded to one male and one female athlete
  • Four finalists will be selected by the Make It Better Foundation Committee, Donald Driver, and representatives from the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame by the end of April

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a second-semester high school senior
  • Have participated in a WIAA-sanctioned sport during high school
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Be actively involved in civic or community organizations or activities (grades 9-12)
  • Be a college-bound student attending an accredited institution
  • Be available to attend the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Milwaukee (or an alternative event if necessary)
  • Consent to be photographed, recorded, and featured in promotional materials

Application Process

  1. Visit the website to access the online application
  2. Complete and submit the online application by 11:59 PM CST on February 28th
  3. If mailing an application, ensure it is postmarked by February 28th to be considered
  4. Event Requirement: Finalists must attend the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame 75th Anniversary Induction Ceremony
  5. Each finalist receives a $100 travel stipend and hotel accommodations for themselves and up to two adult family members

Following the application period, the Make It Better Foundation Committee, including Donald Driver and reps from the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame, will review all eligible applications, and the four (4) Finalists will be selected. Each of the four finalists will be required to attend the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held in Milwaukee. Passes for the event will be provided for the student and two adult family members.
