The Eastern Washington Section of the American Nuclear Society is committed to encouraging students to enter the field of nuclear science and technology and to advancing the careers of young nuclear professionals. Selected candidate(s) are eligible to receive a one-year scholarship of $2,000. Applicants must be high school seniors or existing college students planning a career in nuclear science, nuclear engineering or a nuclear-related field. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a four-year college or university in the U.S.
Note that while the EWS-ANS chapter scholarships are, for the most part, restricted to schools in Washington, Idaho and Oregon, exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis. Decisions regarding the applicants are made by the end of June, and candidates are notified the following week. However, the scholarship will not be awarded until proof of enrollment has been provided.
