The Maxwell Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. Eligibility for and amount of a scholarship is based upon demonstrated financial need as determined by the institution that the student is planning to attend. Eligible applicants must be current high school senior or homeschooled students who live in a location west of the Cascade Mountains.
Besides completing the application, applicants must also submit: a transcript; a financial aid worksheet; a list of extracurricular activities, volunteering or work experience; and a 500-word maximum essay. A submission of standardized test scores is optional but highly recommended. This award has the potential to be renewed for up to an additional three years of undergraduate education based on financial need and reasonable progress toward graduation. A simple renewal application is required each year.
