Scholarship Description

Established to support educational opportunity and community development in Madison County, Illinois, the Edwardsville Lodge #99 Scholarship Program program provides financial assistance to qualified students pursuing post-secondary education at accredited colleges, universities, community colleges, or technical/vocational schools.

Scholarship Details

  • Funds are paid directly to the recipient's educational institution for qualified educational expenses

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a resident of Madison County, Illinois, or a current or recent graduate of a high school located within Madison County, Illinois (public, private, or parochial).
  • Be accepted for enrollment, or currently enrolled, at an accredited college, university, community college, or technical/vocational school in the United States.
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance (e.g., competitive GPA and rigorous coursework) and financial need.

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application form with all required personal and educational information
  2. Submit an official or counselor-certified high school transcript
  3. Write a personal essay of 300 to 1,000 words addressing educational goals, career aspirations, community involvement, financial need, leadership, or why you deserve the scholarship
  4. Obtain one to three letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, employers, coaches, or community leaders
  5. Provide proof of college acceptance or current enrollment
  6. Submit the complete application package by the April 1st deadline
  7. If renewing, submit updated transcripts, proof of continued enrollment, and a renewal application by the required deadline
