Scholarship Description

The Essential Visionaries Scholarship Fund offers renewable scholarships to students pursuing degrees or certificates in education, counseling, psychology, or nursing through college or vocational school programs.

Scholarship Details

  • Renewable undergraduate scholarships for eligible students
  • Awards of up to $5,000 for students attending vocational technical or two-year institutions
  • Awards of up to $10,000 for students attending four-year institutions
  • Scholarships may be renewed for up to four additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a U.S. resident who is a high school senior, high school graduate, GED graduate, or current undergraduate student
  • Must pursue a degree or certificate in education, counseling, social work, psychology, or pre-nursing or nursing
  • Applicants in education, counseling, social work, or psychology must demonstrate commitment to working within the K–12 system
  • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
  • Certification programs must be accredited, follow a semester calendar, and be at least one academic term in length
  • DACA recipients are eligible and encouraged to apply

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application through the designated application platform
  2. Submit academic records demonstrating eligibility and GPA requirements
  3. Write three essays addressing educational goals, personal challenges, and plans for making a meaningful impact
  4. Provide information related to leadership, work experience, and community involvement
  5. Demonstrate financial need as calculated during the review process

This program is dedicated to empowering future professionals committed to making a meaningful impact, particularly within K-12 school systems and healthcare fields. Individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA) are eligible and are encouraged to apply.
