LPI provides scholarships for California residents who are pursuing careers in the legal field. Scholarships are available for high school seniors, college students, and individuals making a career change into the legal profession.
Scholarship Details
- Scholarships are available to support students pursuing legal-related education and careers
- Three scholarship categories are offered: High School Senior, College Student, and Career Change Student
- Applications and required documents should be submitted through a local sponsoring association when available
- If there is no local sponsoring association, applications may be submitted directly to the LPI Scholarship Chair
- Each local sponsoring association may recommend up to two applicants for each scholarship
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be legal residents of the State of California
- High School Senior applicants must be graduating seniors who will complete high school by the end of June and enroll in a legal-related program at a college or business school for the following fall semester
- College Student applicants must have completed at least one year of college by June and be enrolled in a legal-related program for the following fall semester until completing their degree or certificate requirements
- Career Change Student applicants must be enrolled in a legal-related program for the fall semester and either be returning to the workforce after a prolonged absence or transitioning from another career into the legal field through additional education or training
Application Process
- Select the scholarship category that matches your educational or career stage
- Complete the scholarship application and gather all required supporting documents
- Submit your application through a local sponsoring association if one is available in your area
- If no local sponsoring association is available, submit your application and supporting documents directly to the LPI Scholarship Chair
- Ensure all materials are submitted by the sponsoring association's deadline so recommended applications can be forwarded by April 1st, or electronic submissions are received by 11:59 p.m. on the deadline date
