Scholarship Description

The Fort Cavazos Family Scholarship Fund offers academic scholarships to high school seniors and military spouses in the Fort Cavazos area, supporting their pursuit of higher education. Through the provision of academic scholarships to both high school seniors and military spouses residing in the Fort Cavazos area, we actively strive to enhance educational opportunities and uplift the quality of life for these valued families.

Scholarship Details

  • Available to high school seniors and military spouses residing in the Fort Cavazos area
  • Supports enrollment in college, university, trade, or technical schools
  • Designed to assist military families in overcoming educational and financial challenges

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a graduating senior from a high school or home school
  • Must have a valid U.S. military identification card and be enrolled in DEERS
  • Must have been accepted or expect to be accepted by a college, university, trade, or technical school
  • Cannot be the recipient of a full-tuition scholarship, including room and board, or have a military academy appointment
  • Eligible applicants must be:
    • A dependent child of an active duty U.S. military sponsor assigned to Fort Cavazos
    • A dependent child of an active duty U.S. military sponsor previously assigned to Fort Cavazos, residing in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, McLennan, Travis, or Williamson County while on a non-command sponsored assignment
    • A dependent child of an active duty retired U.S. military sponsor residing in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, McLennan, Travis, or Williamson County
    • A dependent child of a deceased U.S. military member residing in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, McLennan, Travis, or Williamson County

Application Process

  1. Gather all required documents, including your high school transcript and proof of acceptance to a postsecondary institution
  2. Complete the scholarship application form
  3. Submit the complete application package, including GPA, by the specified deadline (late and incomplete applications will not be considered)
  4. Await notification; scholarship recipients will be informed of their awards
