The Foundation 649 Scholarship is a grant of $4,000 over the course of 4 years that can be applied to college tuition and expenses. To maintain eligibility each year, there will be a brief check-in and renewal process at the end of each school year.
Scholarship Details
- Total award amount of $4,000, distributed over four years
- Five recipients selected each year
- Annual renewal required to maintain eligibility for successive funds
- Recipients are announced by mid-April
Eligibility Criteria
- Must enroll as a full-time, degree-seeking student at a U.S. accredited university in Fall
- Identify as Asian American or Pacific Islander (AAPI)
- Demonstrate a track record of involvement in AAPI communities, issues, or causes
- Exhibit financial need, as shown by FAFSA SAR or substitute documentation
- Must be a U.S. citizen, resident, or foreign national
Application Process
- Complete the Foundation 649 Scholarship application form by March 1st
- Respond to the application essay prompt: "Share a personal story through video that explores your AAPI identity by connecting with your roots, community, or the everyday moments that make you feel at home"
- Participate in a video call interview if selected as a finalist
In addition, applicants should provide the FAFSA SAI (student aid index). If you are unable to provide this document, please provide substitute documentation and elaborate in the financial aid section.
