Scholarship Description

The Foundation 649 Scholarship offers financial support to Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students pursuing higher education. This scholarship provides $4,000 over four years to help cover college tuition and expenses, with a check-in and renewal process at the end of each academic year. Five recipients will be selected annually, with finalists participating in video interviews as part of the selection process.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must enroll as a full-time, degree-seeking student at a U.S. accredited university in Fall
  • Identify as Asian American or Pacific Islander (AAPI)
  • Demonstrate a track record of involvement in AAPI communities, issues, or causes
  • Exhibit financial need, as shown by FAFSA SAR or substitute documentation
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, resident, or foreign national

Application Process

  1. Complete the Foundation 649 Scholarship application form by March 1st
  2. Submit a FAFSA SAR or alternate financial documentation (e.g., W-2, 1099)
  3. Respond to the application essay prompt (1000-word maximum) describing your community’s unique contribution to the AAPI experience; alternative media submissions are also accepted
  4. Participate in a video call interview if selected as a finalist
