Scholarship Description

Candidates for the Frank E. Rogers Scholarship for Agricultural Studies must be graduating seniors in the current class of the Carl M. Small Regional Agriculture Center of Southington High School, or previous graduates of the Small Agriculture Center of SHS. Candidates will pursue a bachelor’s or associate’s degree (full-time studies) in agriculture (excluding animal studies) at an accredited college or university. Eligible applicants must: demonstrate financial need; have a grade point average of B- or 80; and be hardworking, determined, ambitious, thoughtful of others and able to work well with others. One recipient each year is awarded between $3,000 and $3,500.

The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain understands that we all benefit from an educated workforce, and our Board of Directors, Scholarship Committee and staff are committed to the continued growth of scholarship funds that help local students pursue their educational goals. The majority of the 55 and growing scholarships we manage are awarded to graduating seniors of local public high schools in the Foundation’s coverage area, which includes Berlin, New Britain, Plainville and Southington. A small number are awarded to graduating seniors from Farmington, Newington, Wethersfield and beyond.
