The Girls for Gaming Scholarship is available for women students and early professionals (recent graduates within their first two years in the industry) pursuing a tech career in game development. Eligible applicants must: have at least a GPA of a 3.3; be at least 21 years old; and be a full-time undergraduate student or a graduate student attending an accredited college or university or working as an early professional (within their first two years in the industry). Eligible degrees include law, public relations/marketing, business management and human resources.
To complete this application, applicants must upload the following: a transcript and proof of enrollment (for student applications); proof of employment (for professional applications); a statement addressing their service, leadership, character and financial need; a personal statement (two-page maximum) including information about their studies and how they will benefit the game industry; and two recommendation letters (Recommendation letters must be from colleagues or professors from their current academic program, administration and/or professors who know them individually. Recommendation letters must address their potential to make significant contribution to the game industry through character, service or leadership abilities.)
