The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes, a program of the nonprofit organization Young Heroes Project, celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds all across the U.S. and Canada. Each year, the Barron Prize honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive difference to people and the environment.
Scholarship Details
- Fifteen recipients will each receive a $10,000 cash award
- Funds may be used for public service efforts or higher education
- Winners receive a personalized plaque and certificate
- Winners also gain access to media opportunities and a professional network
- Applications accepted annually from individual applicants only
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be between the ages of 8 and 18 (not yet age 19)
- Must be a permanent resident and currently residing in the U.S.A. or Canada
- Must currently be working on or have completed an inspiring service project within the past 12 months
- Must be leading the service project as an individual (not as part of a group)
Application Process
- Visit the Barron Prize website and complete the online application form
- Gather and submit three letters of recommendation
- Ensure all materials are submitted before the application deadline
