The Hadley Arkes Natural Law Scholarship was established in honor of Hadley Arkes, whose scholarly work and professional endeavors has played a significant role in advancing serious academic engagement with the tradition of natural law in American constitutionalism, moral philosophy, and jurisprudence.
Scholarship Details
- $1,000 scholarship award paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution
- Award is renewable annually for the duration of the recipient’s degree program
- Renewal is contingent upon continued eligibility and academic interest
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited secondary or postsecondary educational program in the United States
- Must demonstrate a serious academic interest in natural law
- Must submit a complete application by the stated deadline
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form
- Prepare a 500 word or fewer essay addressing academic interest in natural law and engagement with the scholarly work of Hadley Arkes
- Submit academic transcripts
- Submit a current résumé
- Provide a recent photograph
- Submit all required materials by February 15th
