Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a high school or college student
- Must submit an original non-fiction essay or qualifying art piece
- Essay submissions must be 1,000–1,500 words
- Art submissions must include a 200–300 word artist statement
- Work should address migration, borders, identity, or justice themes
Application Process
- Create an original essay or visual art submission based on the contest theme.
- For essays, submit a 1,000–1,500 word non-fiction or media criticism piece.
- For art submissions, upload a scanned or photographed version of the artwork.
- Include a 200–300 word artist statement if submitting artwork.
- Complete the application through the official contest portal.
- Submit all materials before the application deadline.
The contest is fully funded by Hindus for Human Rights, in collaboration with the International Commission for Dalit Rights, and will award 4–5 scholarships of $1,500 each. Winners of the essay section will collaborate with editors from the Polis Project for publication. Winners of the art section will be published in Skipping Stones Magazine.
