The HEEF Scholarship Program considers applicants based on a combination of financial need, academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities, community volunteer work, work-employment and home life.
Scholarship Details
- One online application considered for all HEEF subfund partner scholarships
- Selection is based on financial need, academic performance, extracurricular involvement, volunteer work, employment responsibilities, and home life
- Supports full-time enrollment at a four-year college or university
- Open to both graduating high school seniors and community college transfer students from Orange County
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be of Hispanic heritage
- First-generation college student
- An OC high school graduate or community college transfer student planning to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university
- Latino/a who has lived in Orange County, California for the past three years
- Demonstrate financial need through the completion of a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application
Application Process
- Visit the HEEF Scholarship Program website and select “Apply for a HEEF Scholarship”
- Complete the single online application used to evaluate eligibility for all HEEF partner scholarships
- Submit financial information through the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application
- Provide required academic records and documentation of residency in Orange County
- Highlight extracurricular involvement, community service, employment, and home responsibilities within the application
- Submit all required materials by the posted deadline and await notification from HEEF
In 2024, HEEF awarded $238,000 across 19 scholarship funds to 57 talented and deserving students. 2024 HEEF Scholars represent 30 high schools across 12 high school districts and five community colleges in Orange County.
