The Charitable Fund awards scholarships annually to deserving students from each of the three Houston area law schools. The selection is based on scholastic achievement, need, and community involvement.
Scholarship Details
- Approximately $5,000 awarded to selected students
- Typically awarded to one student from each participating Houston law school
- Selection based on scholastic achievement, financial need, and community involvement
- Recipients are invited to attend the annual scholarship luncheon
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a current second-year law student
- Must be enrolled at South Texas College of Law, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, or the University of Houston Law Center
- Must be a resident of Texas
- Must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and community involvement
Application Process
- Access the online scholarship application when it opens.
- Complete all required application fields and provide necessary personal and academic information.
- Submit all required supporting documentation through the online system.
- Application deadline is March 25th
As a result of successful fundraising efforts, the HBAA Charitable Fund historically has been able to award a student from each of the three law schools a $5000.00 scholarship. We hope to continue this trend though we will make the determination annually based on available funds and qualified candidates.
