The Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships (VAMOS) offers an annually renewable award of up to $5,000 to Hispanic high school seniors in Hidalgo, Starr, and Cameron County.
Scholarship Details
- The VAMOS scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years of undergraduate study, totaling up to $20,000 over 4 years.
- Recipients are chosen based on both financial need and merit.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a United States citizens or permanent resident of the United States.
- Applicants must be Hispanic.
- Be a high school senior in Hidalgo, Starr or Cameron county.
- Demonstrate financial need by being eligible for a federal Pell Grant.
- Minimum GPA of 2.75.
- Plan to attend college in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam upon high school graduation.
Application Process
- Complete and submit the FAFSA in advance of the deadline.
