IMM currently offers two education-based scholarships for individuals living with sickle cell disease– The Paradise Scholarship and The Cyntra D. Scott Scholarship. We know that “education” can take many forms. We define "education" as an activity that furthers one’s knowledge base. This could take the form of a workshop, continuing education courses, a degree program, or vocational training.
Scholarship Details
- Award amounts range from $250 to $1,500
- Open to applicants pursuing any form of education: degree programs, vocational training, workshops, or continuing education
- Award amounts are based on application quality, completeness, and available funding
- Recipients must submit an impact statement following a designated period after receiving the award
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have a diagnosis of sickle cell disease, verified by a doctor
- The Paradise Scholarship is for applicants age 25 and under
Application Process
- Determine which scholarship you are eligible for based on age
- Obtain medical verification of your sickle cell diagnosis
- Prepare a formal application that clearly explains how you will use the scholarship funds to further your education
- Sign and include the required consent form
- Submit your completed application before the posted deadline (check IMM website for updates)
- If selected, write and submit an impact statement after a designated period
Award amounts range from $250-$1500, and are determined by the Uniqueness, thoroughness, and the overall accuracy of the application as well as the availability of funds and the number of applicants. Selection is made by committee.
