The Excelsior Lodge No. 1 (“The Lodge”) merit-based scholarship was established as a member benefit to provide financial assistance for the intended use towards educational expenses which includes but is not limited to tuition, computers, books or other expenses related in pursuit of a higher education
Scholarship Details
- Merit-based financial assistance
- Funds may be used for tuition, books, computers, and related educational expenses
- Certificate program awards capped at $500
- Supports college, community college, trade school, and certificate programs
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Member-In-Good-Standing (MIGS) of Excelsior Lodge No. 1 (3rd degree), or their legal spouse, child, grandchild, or legally adopted child
- Must be accepted to or enrolled in an eligible educational program
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must be enrolled full-time (12 credits undergraduate/trade, 9 credits graduate)
- Must meet community service requirements (applicant or sponsor)
- Must participate in an in-person discussion with the Scholarship Committee
- Sponsor must meet Lodge membership, meeting attendance, and community service requirements
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form.
- Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance into an eligible program.
- Submit academic records showing GPA.
- Ensure Lodge sponsor completes and signs required sections.
- Provide documentation of community service (if applicable).
- Obtain required signatures from Lodge officials.
- Participate in an in-person discussion with the Scholarship Committee.
- Submit all materials by the stated deadline.
Certificate programs are eligible for scholarship consideration when they provide a direct pathway to employment through practical, job-ready skills aligned with workforce demand. Programs must be industry-recognized and offered by an accredited or reputable provider, with a defined curriculum, duration, and clear credential outcome.
