Project Sleep’s Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship is a national program that provides financial support to students living with narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia as they begin their college education. Scholarship Details
- Supports students beginning their first semester at a four-year college or university in the United States
- Designed to provide financial assistance while promoting awareness of sleep disorders
- Recipients are required to complete a brief college update survey during the Fall semester and submit a photo of themselves at college
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a high school senior or high school graduate starting a first semester of college in the United States
- Plan to attend a four-year college or university
- Have a diagnosis of narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia confirmed by a medical professional
Application Process
- Write a 500 to 1,000 word personal essay in the form of a letter to yourself on the day you were diagnosed, sharing the advice or perspective you would give your younger self
- Prepare a list of extracurricular activities, including clubs, organizations, employment, volunteer experience, honors and leadership roles
- Obtain a transcript showing grades completed through your most recent semester
- Have an accredited sleep doctor or neurologist complete and sign the Diagnosis Confirmation Form
- Include a professional-style headshot or portrait photo with your application
