The Jacob and Rita Van Namen Marketing Scholarship is intended to develop knowledgeable, creative individuals who will improve the floriculture industry. This award requires students to have a career interest in agribusiness, marketing, and distribution of floral products and be of sophomore, junior, or senior standing.
Scholarship Details
- Established in 1997 to honor Jacob and Rita Van Namen and their contributions to floriculture

- Open to college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students studying floriculture or horticulture

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate-level student
- Must be pursuing a degree in floriculture, horticulture, or a closely related field
- Must have a career interest in agribusiness marketing and floral product distribution
- Must provide a current email address, permanent address, and current mailing address
- Must demonstrate academic achievement, creativity, and dedication to improving the floral industry
Application Process
- Complete the AFE online scholarship application and select the Jacob and Rita Van Namen Marketing Scholarship
- Prepare and upload two letters of recommendation (preferably one from a teacher and one from an employer) as PDF files
- Upload your most recent transcripts (unofficial copies are accepted) in PDF format
- Include a current resume highlighting academic and professional experience
- Submit all materials by the May 1 deadline to ensure consideration
- After submission, you will receive an email confirmation acknowledging receipt of your application
