Valued at $5,000, this scholarship helps cover tuition, books, and other college expenses, empowering young women to achieve their educational goals.
Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a first or second-generation Jamaican-American female
- High school senior graduating from a Florida high school
- Planning to attend a post-secondary institution in the Fall
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (verified by school transcript)
- Minimum of 40 hours of volunteer work in community projects
Application Process
- Complete an essay (800 to 1,000 words) on the following prompt: "Reflect on the influence of a Jamaican woman (e.g., mother, grandmother, mentor) and how her strength inspires you."
- Submit a high school transcript showing a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Provide proof of community service (at least 40 hours)
- Include two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher, guidance counselor, or administrator)
- Submit a resume and personal contact information (name, date of birth, address, telephone, email)
- Successful applicants will be notified in February
Scholarship recipient is expected to be in attendance at the Jamaican Women of Florida’s Annual Women Empowerment Conference on March 28th.
